Maritime Heritage Festival begins Friday in St. Helens

ST. HELENS — A howitzer cannon salute and water parade will kick-off the annual Maritime Heritage Festival on Fri, July 26, in Olde Towne St. Helens.

The free event, which takes place at the City Docks, will be from 2 p.m. to dusk on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Daily activities include Portland Water Spectacular water skiing demonstrations, Native American art exhibits, historic boat tours, regional food vendors, a festival village, children’s activities and live music shows.

There also will be a street dance Friday evening, followed by a classic car cruise-in and fireworks display on Saturday (fireworks begin at dusk), and a pancake breakfast on Sunday.

Event sponsors include the Maritime Heritage Coalition, St. Helens Tourism Committee, St. Helens Economic Development Corporation (SHEDCO), and the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
