1466112_10202447444328373_36114392_nST. HELENS — A  silent auction benefitting Angie Van Ortwick will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sat, Nov. 30., at Sacagawea Health Center, 1060 Eisenschmidt Way.

Van Ortwick, who is from St. Helens, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in June. She is a single mother of three children – two boys ages 18 and 15, and an 11-month-old girl.

She has two major surgeries planned for early December that will prevent her from returning to work as a nursing home dietary manager  for several months.

The silent auction will feature various gift baskets and gift certificates from local businesses, as well as other items. Hors d’oeuvres will be served by Blackbird Catering. Proceeds from the event will go towards Van Ortwick’s living expenses after surgery. Coordinators hope to raise at least $3,500.

Cash donations for Van Ortwick also can be made at any branch of St. Helens Community Federal Credit Union, under the account: “Help for Angie”. A Give Forward account also has been set-up, which can be accessed by clicking here.
