‘Sweetheart Ball’ on Feb. 9 to benefit local art project

ST. HELENS — The St. Helens Arts and Culture Commission will host a “Sweetheart Ball” fundraiser on Feb. 9 in the Pythain Ballroom at 213 S. First St.

The event, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., will feature dinner by Blackbird Catering, live vintage swing music by the Jenny Finn Orchestra, a dance performance by Swing Time, a comedy show by Sharon Lacey, a silent auction, and sales of fine arts, jewelry and unique gifts.

Tickets are $75 a person, or $65 if purchased by Tuesday, Jan. 15. VIP tables are available for $630 each (or $550 if purchased by Tuesday) and includes complementary wine.

Tickets may be purchased at the South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, St. Helens City Hall, or St. Helens Public Library, or online at www. brownpapertickets.com.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the installation of the “Gateway Sculpture” on Milton Creek Bridge, along Highway 30, in St. Helens.
