Business Bits: Comfort Makers

St. Helens, OR – Columbia County’s population has its share of aging seniors among the highest in the state of Oregon along with Clatsop & Benton counties from the 2018 economic data for Pacific Northwest Oregon.   Over the past ten years, more and more women are moving into self-employment across the United States according to Inc.com   That’s exactly the path Katie Klem took to become an entrepreneur working with seniors.  She has recently opened two professional services businesses in Columbia County.

Katie opened Positive Journey, LLC, first to help with Geriatric Care Management, planning to meet seniors aging needs.  Quickly she realized people had a harder time planning but instead reacted to situations so she started Comfort Makers.  Comfort Makers focuses on Supportive Living Services.  They can help de-stress a family situation by caregiving for their loved one’s needs as they age.  She was also looking for a work-life balance as a mom and nurse.

Katie is a trained nurse.  She found a passion for working with the geriatric population.   She explained that her love for working with the geriatric population drove her to continue her graduate education in Geriatric Care Management.   Now, with Comfort Makers she lives her passion every day by helping older adults thrive in the comfort of their own home. With the help of her team, they take the stress out of caregiving and are changing families lives in Columbia County.  Katie explained that “using professional care management services helps relieve stress, reduce conflict, saves time and money.”  Katie is a wealth of knowledge and hires staff that treats their clients like family.

Are you a caregiver?  What do you do when you need a break?  Comfort Makers is a reasonably priced locally owned company.  Comfort Makers differs from their competition because they have no minimum hours and can start within a four-hour time frame.
