Country music festival, cornhole tournament comes to St. Helens May 17-18

ST. HELENS — The two-day music festival Countrycon will feature eight popular county bands and a cornhole tournament in Olde Towne St. Helens May 17-18.

The event will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, in The Old School at 251 St. Helens St.

Saturday bands include Brian Earl Haines and Sunset Highway, Sweetwater, Counterfeit Cash, Michele Drey and Branded, and Brent Amaker and The Rodeo.

The cornhole tournament begins at 11 a.m. First place wins $500. Teams are limited to 30 players and participants must be ages 13 and older. Only regulation boards and bags are permitted. Entry fee is $25 a team. Registration forms are available at Bertucci’s, 2017 Columbia Blvd., St. Helens.

On Sunday, Country Wide, Carrie Cunningham, and Tiffany Kuenzi will perform. Food and beverages also will be available for purchase both days, including beer, wine and spirits.

Admission to Countrycon is $25 a day, or $40 for a two-day pass. Children 12 and younger are $10 a day, or $15 for both. Tickets can be purchased at Bertucci’s, or online at http://bit.ly/SigJiZ. The event is limited to 250 people a day.
