‘Jail and Bail’ veterans benefit June 19

ST. HELENS — Community Action Team will host a “Jail and Bail” benefit on June 19 in the Safeway parking lot on the corner of Highway 30 and Gable Road.

The event, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., features a mock jailhouse and presiding judge who will sentence participants to “do time” until a friend or family member can raise bail money for their release. Jailbirds will have their mug shots taken, and be served a fine “bread and water” meal during their incarceration.

Transportation to the “Jail and Bail” is available within a 15-mile radius of the event, or participants may arrange for their own “arrest”.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the 2nd Annual Columbia County Veterans Stand Down. Details: Pam Daniel, 503-366-6591, or pdaniel@cat-team.org.
